This re-creation silver coin is an exact duplicate of a silver reale coin salvaged from the Atocha by Mel Fisher and his crew. It also contains a portion of silver from silver ingot #85A-S42, recovered from the richest Spanish Galleon ever salvaged to date, the Nuestra Senora de Atocha.

The Atocha tragically ended her voyage on a reef of the Florida Keys on September 6, 1622, taking with her 264 souls many of whom were royal blood. She scattered over 47 troy tons of treasure over 50 miles of ocean bottom. There were only 5 people to survive the wreck.
